Next Meeting!

NOTE Change of location

When:
Wednesday, July 2, 6:30-8:00pm
Where:
Cook Community Center
510 Gopher Dr.
Cook, MN
Speaker:
Allegra Dengler, Chair, Citizens for Voting Integrity-New York
Topic:
Election Freedom, Election Security Are our elections really free? Fair? Secure? Did Kamala lose in 2024? Learn about the threats to our elections and get ready to protect the 2027 elections.

Allegra Dengler has participated in elections as an elected official, as a candidate for Mayor of Dobbs Ferry, as a District Leader, and as a poll watcher in New York and Florida. Allegra participated in recounts in New York and New Hampshire and traveled to Pennsylvania, California, Ohio, Washington DC and Costa Rica to observe elections and meet with election security experts. Her passion is fighting climate change and species extinction, but after Bush v Gore, she realized that all her efforts must go to protecting the vote count, so that anti-environment candidates don't take office because of insecure election technology and procedures that make it impossible to verify who actually won.

When:
July 12, 11:00am–12:00pm
Where:

Rep. Stauber has failed to stand up for the people of MN-08 — again and again.

The Grow a Spine Stauber action is happening at all four of Stauber's local offices, so let's get a huge crowd at Chisholm and Hermantown. The goal is 4000 people that day.

Good Trouble Lives On — Ely

When:
July 17, 5:00-7:00pm
Where:
Whiteside Park
Ely, MN

Good Trouble Lives On is a national day of nonviolent action to respond to the attacks posed on our civil and human rights by the Trump administration and to remind them that in America, the power lies with the people.

John Lewis served in the House of Representatives for 33 years, and his life work was an ongoing invitation to others to build a better, just world that values the dignity and the worth of every human being. He urged people to “Get in good trouble, necessary trouble, and redeem the soul of America.”

We're taking action across the country to carry forward his legacy of Good Trouble and defend our democracy. Come add your voice in Whiteside Park in Ely. Bring signs or make one there. After demonstrating on Sheridan Avenue, we'll take time to get to know new friends, talk about issues you're concerned about, and get a bite to eat. You can bring a picnic dinner, get food from a food truck, or head to a local restaurant. Get ideas about how you can cause some Good Trouble.

Please note: A core principle behind our Good Trouble Lives On actions is a commitment to nonviolence in all we do. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
